Movie Review: “Sex in the City” is half of what I hate in America.

Movie Review. I haven’t seen Sex in the City. Nor do I plan on it. I have read reviews though … My favorite goes something like this,

“The film is another Taliban recruitment film — a grotesque and putrid valentine to the insipid “me, my lifestyle, my accessories and I” chick culture of the early 21st Century. Guys everywhere — if you’re in a brand-new relationship, take her to see this thing. If she even half-likes it, dump her and walk away cold. Save yourself!”

There are some great (shallow) messages in the lyrics of the Sex in the City movie’s theme song:

A sampling of the song’s lyrics:
Shopping for labels, shopping for love!

I’m not concerned with all the politics…all I know is that I’m always happy when I walk out the store.
Stop chasing those boys and shop some more!
Relationships are often so hard to take! A Prada dress has never broke my heart before!

Men they come a dime a dozen, just give me them diamond rings!
I know my credit card will help me put out the flames …

As an American, I am embarrassed by this movie. Of course, if we ever do catch Osama bin Laden, may I suggest caging him up in front of an Abercrombie and Fitch store in a large mall with digital display screens playing Sex in the City continuously throughout the day. He’ll be begging for Guantanamo Bay. Cheers.
